Hershey Kiss Cookies

This is one of the most popular recipes on Now….you’re cooking! It was submitted by Dana Jago of Louden, Tennessee, who said “My mom made these cookies at Christmas when I was a child. they were always my favorite!” Apparently there are lots of readers who agree with her.

Ingredients

Hershey Cookie2 2/3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Additional sugar
5 dozen Hershey Kisses, unwrapped

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt and set aside.
  2. Place butter and peanut butter in electric mixer vowl and mix until smooth.
  3. Beat in sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth.
  5. Stir in flour mixture. Add additional flour if needed to make dough firm enough to roll in balls.
  6. Make balls out of level tablespoons of dough, roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees F. for 8 minutes - 12 minutes. they should be slightly underdone. 
  7. Remove from oven and add 1 Kiss to the center of each cookie. Return to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes. Cool and enjoy.
